I studied Theatre and Drama at Stellenbosch University. However, my path swiftly veered towards film and television, where I found the immersive world of storytelling and editing. There's something magical about meeting new people, getting to know them, and then weaving their stories into something creative and captivating.
Since those early days, I've worn many hats in the industry. I've produced, directed, and edited all sorts of content, from fiction to documentaries and various TV series. My expertise includes documentary, reality series, talk shows, lifestyle programs, music videos, training and corporate videos and a multitude of roles such as post-production supervisor, content producer, director, and editor. I am not afraid to engage with controversial and emotionally charged content, firmly believing in its power to provoke thought and stimulate meaningful discussions. Education, health, climate change, women's and children's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, equality, and animal welfare are causes that resonate profoundly with me. I have been privileged to share my knowledge as a freelance lecturer at institutions like Stellenbosch University, University of Cape Town, University of the Western Cape, Stellenbosch Academy of Design & Photography and AFDA. Additionally, I have actively engaged in professional development, having completed the Business Model Canvas (BMC) trainer course endorsed by Durban FilmMart, the Documentary Filmmakers' Association, Gauteng Film Commission, Canadian Film Commission, and NFVF and a diploma in Intellectual Property Law at Stellenbosch University, as well as a course in Mindfulness. I am a member of the South African Guild of Editors (SAGE) and served on the board and was treasurer of the Documentary Filmmakers Association (DFA) for 10 years. Outside of my professional life, I find solace in quality time with family and friends. Reading, hiking, running and yoga allow me to strike a harmonious balance in life.
